Target angered customers by calling the color of a plus-sized dress ‘manatee gray.’ It’s since been changed to ‘gray.’ Target apologized for labeling the color of a plus-sized women’s dress as “manatee gray” while the same dress in regular sizes was called “dark heather gray.” Shoppers slammed the store for what many interpreted as a jab at larger women, after one online shopper posted a screengrab of the name discrepancy on Tuesday. Deede explained that “manatee gray” is a seasonal color used across product categories on Target.com.
