John Mayer Dedicates a Song to Katy Perry
image John Mayer kicked off his "Born and Raised" Tour at Milwaukee's Marcus Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 6. Before ending the show, Mayer took the mic to give a shout-out to on-again girlfriend Katy Perry for taking care of him when he was recovering from a throat surgery that silenced him for months. "She was so patient," he said and added that Perry was the one who ordered food for him when he couldn't speak. "[She took time] to continue to get know me and love me." He then dedicated the last song called "a Face to Call Home" to the pop star and said that the song was for "Katy, who is my face to call home." The Saturday concert was his first headlining show since he underwent a major surgery to remove a granuloma in his throat last year. "I've spent many, many months dreaming of this night. It's a long time coming," Mayer told the crowd of the concert. Mayer and Perry broke up for the second time last March. In an interview, the 28-year-old songstress said that she was still "madly in love" with the "Paper Doll" singer. "Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds," she said. The pair recently confirmed their rekindled romance with a picture that sees them hugging during the Philly 4th of July Jam. "She watched him perform off stage and watched every second of his performance, singing along to every song and dancing," a source said. "She was so into his performance and gave him a big hug and kiss when he finished afterwards
